Ya Kee Nit

Ya Kee Nit (Crying) is a symphonic work, the second in a series of three, which memorialize the Comanche mother of the composer.  It is for scored for full orchestra, with some solo work for the trumpet and English horn.  It was complete in May, 2007.   (The first of the three works is Wessi vah-peh, for orchestra and American Indian flute.  The third and final work of the series has not yet been written.  The composer’s mother, Norma Portillo Yeagley, passed April 9, 2005.)
